With the aim of building a future-ready Vietnam, Microsoft VN has partnered with MoET, Vietnet ICT, The Dariu Foundation, Aptech, Teky, InnEdu, Empire Code and Vinschool to equip young people with digital skills through Hour of Code campaign in response to Global Computer Science Education Week.
Within two months of implementation, Hour of Code campaign in Vietnam this year has made the highest record in the past four years. The campaign was widely received by many provinces from the North to the South, attracted more than 136.000 students from 466 schools in 26 provinces especially remote areas, ethnic minorities, coastal/riverbank provinces where students and teacher are experiencing the lack of opportunities to access to computer science education. The campaign was closed with two MakeCode Hackathons organized in Hanoi and HCM cities in the framework of Education Exchange Vietnam.
Some highlighted results:
Over 136.000 students, 400 schools, 700 teachers through more than 450 events in 26 provinces across country. In which, The Dariu Foundation has reached out over 59.000 students, 170 schools, 250 teachers throughout 14 Southern provinces of Vietnam, achieved over 150 videos shared on social media.
