Recognizing the potential talents of coding skills and innovation among rural and disadvantaged children, The Dariu Foundation has been delivering the Code Club project since 2019, providing low-cost technology access to code learning for rural children aged 9-15.
In the Code Clubs the children learn how to build technology-based projects, using Scratch, Python, Micro:bit, and related devices.
The Dariu Foundation launched the first Code Club in 2019 in Tien Giang province, followed by another 11 clubs in 2019. In 2020 it launched 112 Code Clubs in the Vinh Long, Hoa Giang, Lam Dong, and Hoa Binh provinces. By the end of 2020, 2,700 rural students had been recruited to the Code Club network.
