Chai was born and raised in Malaysia. She received her MSc. in Manufacturing Engineering from the Queen’s University of Belfast, United Kingdom. From 2011 to 2014, she was Chairperson of Ulysse Nardin SA, a Swiss watch company established in 1846, which her late husband, Rolf Schnyder, brought to new heights. In his honour, Chai founded the Rolf Schnyder Foundation (fondationrolfschnyder.org). Working with NGOs and schools, the foundation has built and funded free clinics and an orphanage for HIV children in the poor townships of Myanmar, as well as various children-related projects and scholarships in Mongolia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Peru, Mexico and China.
Alexander is an investor with a long and succesful history in private equity and value investing. Before founding his own investment company, he served as a Senior Executive & Partner at Babcock & Brown, was CFO and delegate of the board of the Swiss manufacturer MEWAG AG, CFO and COO for Obtree Technologies and was an associate director at UBS Warburg. With his analytical skills, he has excellent understanding of and deep insight into the markets of this world.
After 10 years in Ringier’s financial accounting, he was appointed secretary to the board of directors in 1993. Three years later, he was promoted to head of corporate finance and joined the group executive board. He was appointed its chairman in 2003.He handed over the operational management of Ringier AG in 2009 and joined the board of directors. Since 2004, Martin Werfeli has also been chairman of the board for both Ringier Print Holding AG and Swiss Printers AG. In his spare time, he is engaged in humanitarian and church organisations.
In his early childhood, Daniel had already developed a growing urge for justice and helping people who were less fortunate than him. Years later, after having spent five years in Asia as an expatriate and having had a chance to travel extensively to many countries in Southeast Asia, he came across other groups of outsiders rejected for one or another reason from benefiting from our society. Of all of them, children seemed in greatest need. After nine years with UBS in Zurich, Hong Kong, Seoul and Singapore, he decided to resign in order to help those in need and he co-founded the succesful foundation Child’s Dream in Thailand.
Thomas is a highly experienced entrepreneur and manager and has been the driving force at Ringier’s, Switzerland’s leading media group, international expansion, where was responsible for New Markets, Asia and Africa. On his early business ventures in Vietnam in 1992, he fell in love with Asia, which eventually led him to launch The Dariu Foundation in 2002.
Sak is a highly experienced entrepreneur and executive in various business enterprises. During 2001-2008, he was Thai National Strategist and had been appointed to the advisory board of four ministries and four government bodies, and executive committee of three government bodies and two universities. He has been the driving force of international NGOs under UN at ICMCI (International Council of Management Consulting Institutes) and GEN (Global Ecovillage Network), and also lecturer of Pepperdine University USA. With his 30 years of experiences in international business ventures, in 2019 he eventually built TVA Community of eco social enterprises.
Steve is a parallel entrepreneur and Angel investor who has been in technology business for almost 30 years. He aims to bring cutting-edge technology to make life better for people in developing countries via education, healthcare and trade promotion projects. In particular as the CEO of Kiuasia, he has contributed substantially to enriching SMEs throughout the Mekong Region by giving them the end-to-end tools and market support they need to export their goods to the world online.
