We believe that investing in young people and preparing them with the right skills for work, they will live out their full potential. But investments in learning and training are falling short and too many young people are not keeping pace with the evolving demands of employment.
Low-income families and the most disadvantaged children are our main targets. We trust that empowering women financially and young girls with education are smart economics and the right thing to do. It’s the key to eradicating gender discrimination and poverty.
Since 2003, our operations directly or indirectly impacted more than 250,000 people all in all; over 18,000 scholarships were granted to disadvantaged students, of which 50% are female; 320,000 students benefited from 54 mobile schools, operating in Vietnam and Myanmar; a loan value of $40 million was granted to 40,000 families in Vietnam alone. These are only the first steps to the goal of creating sustainable and positive impact for one million people by 2025, by creating microfinance services for low-income families in the rural areas of Vietnam, Myanmar and India.
