The Digital Literacy Initiative (DLI) is a two-year program (2024-2025) developed by The Dariu Foundation (TDF) and implemented by Swisscontact in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) and the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training (MLVT). The overall goal of the program is to empower young people for the digital economy by providing access to digital education and closing the digital divide. The program trains teachers in public schools to provide young people with basic skills in information and communication technology (ICT). It supports schools to run Code Clubs. Code clubs give young people the opportunity to work in teams to develop and implement innovative projects. This encourages creative and entrepreneurial thinking. They also develop problem-solving, teamwork, project management, and leadership skills. The program also works closely with local NGOs and the private sector.
